Excellent post Leolaia. Apparently you're the only regular on this site that has any real knowledge of the Bible. I was getting ready to start a thread answering jabberwock's question but you answered it so well there's nothing left to add.

Why weren't the rebellious angels destroyed?
by jabberwock innearly every living thing is drowned to death because of the badness and general mischief going on during noah's day.
why aren't the angels who materialized bodies and fathered a race of giant, violent freaks destroyed as well?.
i know that they, presumably, left their bodies just in time to escaped the flood, but that shouldn't be enough to escape the wrath of almighty god.. it's interesting that the genesis account says very little about them.

nicolaou says: The 'god' of the Bible doesn't define what is good or bad - you and I do.
The second stupidest comment I've read on this site since I joined. So the people who believe it's okay to molest children are right, and the people who don't think it's to molest children are also right. Do you see how your logic makes no sense. Two opposing views can't both be correct. There are some things that are just wrong no matter what you or I think.

ARE YOU READY FOR THE FINISH LINE? GB Talk
by Girlie inand then, immediately after babylon the great is destroyed, almost without a break, look at matt 24 :29 -immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened and the moon will not give its light and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.. now in what sense will the sun be destroyed and the moon not give its light?
are you ready for that?.
and you'll fall across the finish line into the new world !

Snowbird says: Girlie, I believe they're hoping the token-Negro-turned-MLK will fire up things!
"Token Negro"? I shouldn't be suprised that a person from Alabama is racist, but it really doesn't matter what you uneducated rednecks think anyway.

Fact vs Faith vs Delusion
by jwfacts inreligious groups regularly refer to their belief system as truth.
religious truth is generally a mix of fact and faith.
for some groups, truth extends beyond faith and into the realm of delusion.

JWFacts says: Facts pertain to knowledge gained in the form of experience and learning. A hypothesis is postulated, tested and if verified becomes considered a fact... Faith is used to describe beliefs that are not proven. These unprovable assertions rely on faith to be accepted.
So Jwfacts by your own addmission evolution and the big bang theory is faith and not fact as evolution has yet to be proven and the big bang theory is unprovable.

If Adam hadn't sinned, where would he be right now?

Hello Paul. As you can see from all the stupid and immature response to your question, this really isn't the type of site to try to have any intellectual or serious conversation. This site is mainly for bitter sarcastic ex-jws who spend all their time bashing the watchtower instead having real conversations.

GeorgieGirl can you tell us where you got those quotes so I can get more information. On some of the quotes you don't even list a book and with the ones that you do give a book you don't say where exactly in those books that particularly quote can be found. I know for a fact the Hadith was written hundreds of years after the new testament so that makes me question everything else in your post.

More than 50% of the world's practicing Nazis/Skin Heads live in Russia making Russia the most racist/bigoted country on earth and Russia is also the 5th most violent country on the entire planet, yet the government is concerned about JWs knocking on people's door giving out magazines.

"We will build towers to the heavens." "Man was not built for such a height."
by sd-7 inthis topic has almost certainly been discussed before, but it just popped into my head.
the title for this topic is a quote from a brilliant rock band called the protomen--for you video-gamers out there, if you've never heard of them, you should give 'em a listen on itunes or wherever.
they're incredible.

SD God God wasn't against mankind being united, he was against what they were uniting to do. God united the descendent's of Jacob under with one language, one law, and gave them their own land. And in the new testament God united Jews and Gentiles under Christ. And of course after the resurrection all of heaven and earth will be united. So to conclude God doesn't want people to unite based on what happened with the tower of Babel is fallacy.

While I do believe every other book in the Bible is 100% truth and is inspired by God, Revelation is the only book I don't believe is inspired. I believe this mainly because it contradicts what was taught in the rest of the Bible and it introduces way too many new ideas that Jesus, the Apostles, the Prophets, and God himself never mentioned such as the battle of Armageddon, the lake of fire, dragons, 1000 year reign, etc. And there is too much numerology in Revelation, something that is not present in the rest of the Bible.
